We are committed to breaking down communication barriers by empowering users like you to easily communicate and understand content in other languages. Our mission is to help you access and share stories across different cultures, which drives us to develop innovative products and services, available through reedapt.com.

However, due to the nature of our business and products you would be interacting with, there would be reasons to collect, process and retain your Personal Data and other information.

Your Personal Data is information that identifies you, and under various laws based on your country of residence, we have responsibilities and legal obligations. Also remember you have various rights and powers in relation to who can access that data, and what we can use this data for.

5. Third Party Access to Your Data & Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. However, we may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who support our operations including:

6. Cross-Border Data Transfers

6.1.

To provide our services efficiently and securely and to perform our obligations in our contract with you, we make use of global cloud service providers, whose servers are located outside Nigeria, including in countries such as the United States.

6.2.

This means that your personal data, especially your User Prompt Information is transferred and stored outside of Nigeria.

6.3.

When we transfer your personal data outside Nigeria, we ensure that the data recipient is subject to appropriate safeguards, (such as standard contractual clauses, data recipient laws, certifications mechanism or other basis of transfers) that affords an adequate level of protection, in accordance with the NDPA and global best practices.

7. Data Retention

7.1.

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected. When data is no longer needed, we take appropriate steps to delete or anonymize such data so it can no longer be used to identify it.

7.2.

Personal data can be retained based on the following factors:

  • the nature of service you are using;
  • the category of data involved;
  • the duration of your account with us;
  • Legal, tax and regulatory obligation

7.3.

You may request the deletion of your Personal data at any time by contacting us. Upon receiving your request we will process and delete your personal information from our active records, unless we are legally required to retain or it has already been anonymized and incorporated into our AI Model.

7.4.

Please note that once a user prompt has been added into our AI Model such information is anonymized and would no longer be traceable to you.

As a Data Subject, that is you have Personal Data in our possession. You have the following rights:

  • Right to lodge complaints with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC);
  • Right to know where we acquired your data from;
  • Right for your data in our possession to be erased;
  • Right to restrict processing of your data;
  • Right to object to data processing;
  • Right to withdraw consent;
  • Right to rectify or correct any mistake that is contained in your data in our possession;
  • Right to obtain a copy of your data in our possession;
  • Right not to be subject to automated decision-making;
  • Right to data portability.
